The Apologies We Never Receive

Shame isn’t weakness but
The brunt of too much strength
Suns cascade through time
While things appear illuminated
Where there is light there is
Always shadow and that is where
I need to play these days
Perhaps I can feel my way out
Of darknesses
Running my hands over walls and
Emotions like a primordial labyrinth
I deconstruct the instability of
Uncles and brothers and cities and
All the ways I have opened my arms
To inflictions and all the ways I have
Closed my chest to ricochet and
Inflict others
Nothing is ever broken
We’re all just sorry for everyone
Except ourselves
