Godard

I tried to put myself in his shoes and
Nothing. Life passes by in black and white
Decked out in absurdity. There is a man
And there is a woman, both of whom
Find themselves lost in separate rooms.
We are perpetually people-watching from
Behind windows, betraying our own
Invisibility. Passion is all about gazing
Intently, creating tunnel vision by sheer
Force of will. I drink an espresso. I
Laugh at myself. The waitress brings the check
And I choke on the simplest of words.
Lunchtime passes, life ticks away.
The gray sky, the white sky: regardless
The sun laughs at our disingenuity.

Always seriously joking and rambunctiously soft-spoken.
