pome

these are phantom photo booths on
phantom beaches populated by my
unenviable nostalgia in which you and
I giggle into sunsets that never set
taking pictures of moments unseen like
bunny ears on laps and first kisses
smeared like candy across our lips
yours was a love I watched from the
sidelines where we danced in pairs
with other people for years and years
the soft and ruddy glow of memories
never created lining the periphery
of summer after summer after summer
the loneliness just sweats off the solstice
into the dark and tepid night

Always seriously joking and rambunctiously soft-spoken.
