Unconditionally Foolish

We step out of these skins
Over the course of lifetimes.
We have been left unfinished
For centuries, wandering
Continents in loneliness, wonder,
Finding each other repeatedly,
Losing each other repeatedly.
A palm pressed against a
Jawbone, a password.
I am a story without words
That hums in all directions.
What moonlight, those stars,
The blanket that covers
When I am not here,
When you are denied,
When we do not exist.
