Dream Logic

I am sitting on a chair next to a woman
I know but have never met. She turns away and
I’m waiting for you. It’s imperative that I
Put my lipstick on but it’s in the car that you’ve
Never driven and I can’t find a way out of this room.
It’s not my mother tongue.
Someone’s parents offer me brown drinks on a
Tray, but the liquid looks more like dirt with
Small pearls of sugar. I search for a
Bathroom but there’s only small room that’s broken and
Empty telling me to walk back.
This is a mall, there is a Starbucks, I think this is
My culture if I can be honest with myself.
I want my red lipstick, I want my boxes, I
Want to get out of here with you but
You are never coming back.
