I remember you

I have watched you from the corners
Meticulously trying on masks and wigs,
Standing before mirrors adjusting the
Cadence of your breath and body.
What is most important is to be witnessed,
And witnessed by ourselves.
I have heard you whisper into your reflection,
Sigh into the depths of your palms so that
The loneliness was infused into your blood
Flowing heartache through your veins.
But I have seen you and I have heard you and
I remember you, smiling and golden.
I remember the seed from which your
Selves have grown, the source of all that
You are and all that is never to be questioned.
